Diamond tip microdermabrasion or crystal free microdermabrasion

Diamond tip microdermabrasion, or crystal free microdermabrasion as it is also known, is different than traditional microdermabrasion.  What sets it apart is that while traditional microdermabrasion will use aluminum oxide crystals, diamond tip microdermabrasion will use synthetic diamonds.  The purpose of the aluminum oxide crystals and the diamonds in these machines is to scrub away the top layer of skin on your face, and thereby remove blackheads and acne.

One thing that is a problem with traditional microdermabrasion treatments is the way that it blasts the aluminum oxide crystals onto the face.  When the machine blasts the crystals, you run the risk of getting them into your eyes or ears.  This has caused negative side effects in people taking this treatment, such as itchy eyes and headaches.  It also has had some negative side effects on the facial skin for people who have sensitive skin, which is why there has been a search for a replacement to the aluminum oxide crystals.

Fortunately, we now have synthetic diamonds, which seem to be a perfect solution. While some machines do use real diamonds instead of the synthetic ones, these are, for obvious reasons, a lot more expensive, so not surprisingly, most machines use the synthetic diamonds for the tips.  While it seems that diamonds of any sort would be too rough on the skin, this is not the case and diamond tip microdermabrasion actually works quite well.

Another good thing about diamond tip microdermabrasion is that it is not just safer for your skin but also does not cost as much as normal microdermabrasion treatments.  The reason for that is that the synthetic diamonds are easily cleaned, sterilized and then reused, while aluminum oxide crystals have to be ordered more often.
Diamond tip microdermabrasion treatments are a good option if you have problems with acne or blackheads, no matter what type of skin you have.  This kind of microdermabrasion treatment can use different kinds of tips depending on your skin type, lessening the risk of negative side effects to your skin.
